Family Storytime

Come visit us on Sunday mornings for a fun-filled Storytime! Enjoy our weekly themed books and crafts. We'll also sing your favorite children's songs, new and old. Your child will gain early literacy skills, break out of their shell, and have fun!

Author Talk with Shane Sato -- Portraits and Stories of Japanese American Veterans

Join author and photographer Shane Sato for an author talk and slide presentation about the coffee table book series "The Go for Broke Spirit" which features portraits and stories of Japanese American veterans who fought during World War II.

This 45-minute program is suitable for all ages. Registration is optional. You may RSVP online or at the Reference Desk for a reminder. Copies of the book series will be available for sale at the conclusion of the program. Mahalo to the Friends of Kaimuki Public Library for sponsoring and assisting with this event.

Did you know that music is an integral part of childhood literacy? It's true! Join us for a morning of music, dancing, and play! We will be using a variety of keiki-friendly instruments to build motor skills, music awareness, literacy skills--all while having a ton of fun!

This program will last 30 minutes, so make sure to arrive on time!

Caregivers and keiki are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes. We will be very active!

Hanukkah Holiday Hoopla

Have you ever heard of dreidels, gelt, or latkes? Yes? No? We'll tell you all about it! Join us during for an educational experience for kids and their adults!

Small Kine Storytime: Auntie Megan shares her favorite Jewish picture book, Something From Nothing.

What Do Jews Do On Hanukkah?: Auntie Rachel tells us about the Jewish holiday of Hannukah, including foods, songs, games, and traditions.

Hanukkah Q&A: Do you have a burning question that you've always been afraid to ask? Now's your time! Ask an experienced Jewish educator all your questions!

Dreidel and Menorah Gallery: Auntie Rachel has collected dreidels for years! Come view her collection.

Learn to Play: We will be teaching you how to play dreidel! Everyone who plays will get a prize.

Christmas Song Sing-Along

Join the joyful singers of Sing for Your Life for a merry Christmas Sing Along!

We will be singing popular Christmas tunes for an upbeat ho-ho-holiday celebration! All lyrics will be provided--all you need to bring is yourself and your holiday spirit!

La Sorellanza -- Sisterhood in Song 2022 Winter Concert

Location: Library Adult Reading Room

Come and enjoy the beautiful choral voices of La Sorellanza -- Sisterhood in Song as they sing Contemporary, Hawaiian, Jazz and Christmas songs this holiday season. This program is suitable for all ages. All are welcome to attend!

La Sorellanza was founded as a non-auditioned chorus in August 2011 to serve women of the community. The choir gives regular community concerts, performs at community health care facilities, and various fundraising events for other community organizations. Its mission is to empower and inspire women through the choral arts, the pursuit of musical excellence, and the community of sisterhood.
