  • Goodwill Kaimuki Store & Donation Center Re-Opening At New Civil Beat Plaza, Sept 1, 2023

HONOLULU -- Goodwill Hawaii will celebrate the grand re-opening of its Kaimuki Store and Donation Center at the all-new Civil Beat Plaza (located on the ground level of 3650 Waialae Ave.) on Friday, Sept. 1, by giving away free gift cards to the first 100 shoppers (18 years or older) in line. The new location features a new and convenient off-street drive-thru donation drop-off which allows drivers to enter behind the building from Koko Head Avenue and exit on Wilhelmina Rise.

"We are grateful for all the aloha and support that the Kaimuki and East Honolulu communities have shown our organization, especially with the reopening of our store and donation center at Civil Beat Plaza," said Goodwill Hawaii president and CEO, Katy Chen. "This location has historically been one of our most popular, and I know the community will appreciate the upgraded design of the store as well as the convenience of the drive-thru donation drop-off."

Goodwill Hawaii is looking to hire 20 more employees to support their Kaimuki retail and donation operations and will be hosting an on-site job fair on Wednesday, August 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Interested applicants can complete an application online at GoodwillHawaii.org/jobs beforehand or at the store the day-of.

The grand opening celebration on Sept. 1 will begin at 9:30 a.m. In addition to free Goodwill gift cards for the first 100 customers (18 year or older) in line, guests will enjoy complimentary refreshments and entertainment, and can enter to win gift cards from neighboring Kaimuki businesses provided by 3650 Waialae. The Kaimuki Store and Donation Center will be Goodwill's 13th retail location in Hawaii. The revenue generated in Goodwill Hawaii's stores supports its programs and services that provide free job training, education, financial literacy and more for thousands of Hawaii residents each year.

The Goodwill Kaimuki Store and Donation Center will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with donations being accepted starting at 8 a.m. Free parking for Goodwill customers will be offered in the open-air lot at 3660 Waialae Ave. Goodwill also has community donation centers at Kahala Mall, Ali‘iolani Elementary School, Hawaii Kai Shopping Center and Hawaii Kai Park and Ride that will remain open for business daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, visit GoodwillHawaii.org.
