FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE HONOLULU, HI – The Hawaiʻi Chamber Music Festival (HCMF) proudly presents its 7th season, the Ellen Masaki Ohana Series, sponsored by Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, from June 14-22, 2025. This year’s theme, Cultural Celebrations, promises non-stop music paired with non-stop aloha, bringing world-class musicians together for an unforgettable week of performances.

Named in honor of beloved and renowned piano teacher Ellen Masaki, whose dedication to music education shaped generations of musicians, this series continues her legacy by fostering excellence and community through music.
The festival takes off on June 14 at Orvis Auditorium with “Aloha Junction Trio!”, featuring The Junction Trio—Artistic Director Stefan Jackiw, pianist Conrad Tao, and cellist Jay Campbell. The music continues on June 16 at Kaimana Beach Hotel, where the Kaimana Quartet and friends perform an intimate seaside concert.
On June 18, “An American in Paris” at the Lutheran Church of Honolulu, Artistic Director Stefan Jackiw teams up with returning pianist Sean Kennard and clarinetist Yoonah Kim, alongside local pianist Tommy Yee and violist Hyobi Sim, in an all-French program celebrating the Parisian charm and elegance of Debussy and Fauré.
The annual HCMF Gala, “A Sparkling Soirée,” lights up June 20 at The Kahala Hotel & Resort, featuring the return of Hawaiʻi’s favorite, Matt Catingub.

On June 21, “Memorable Melodies” highlights the highly anticipated return of cellist Michael Nicolas, with performances of Mozart’s Magic Flute and Schubert’s Trout Quintet. The festival reaches its grand finale on June 22 with “Dynamic Duos,” celebrating the 5th anniversary of the tuition-free Young Artist Program, featuring the Zippy’s Young Artist Orchestra alongside soloists Stefan Jackiw, Michael Nicolas, Sungchan Chang, and Erin Nishi.
