Welcoming our new board leadership
At HPR's Board of Directors meeting last month, Joe Uno was named Chair and Mary Fastenau was named Vice Chair. Cheryl Lupenui and David DeLuca are continuing their roles as Secretary and Treasurer. Cathy Ching was also elected as a new director.
HPR welcomes James Faumuina as our new Community Advisory Board Chair. We also welcome 10 new CAB members that make up the Class of 2027.

'Wait Wait...' tickets on sale now
NPR Presents "Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me!" with Hawai‘i Public Radio on Oct. 9 and 10 at the Blaisdell Concert Hall in Honolulu. Both shows will be recorded for national broadcasts, with the Oct. 9 show airing that weekend. Sponsored by Honolulu Financial Partners and Hawai‘i Pacific University.

Her program "Colors of the Harp" showcases the beauty and magic of the harp through music composed by Queen Liliʻuokalani, Leilehua Lanzalotti, Claude Debussy and Sergei Profofiev. By popular demand, we've added a 2 p.m. matinee performance on Saturday, Aug. 23.

HPR-1 Weekend Schedule Changes
Please note the following program schedule adjustments, effective this weekend, starting with our Saturday lineup:
10 a.m. - "Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me!" - also on Sundays at 10 a.m.
11 a.m. - "Radiolab"
12 p.m. - "This American Life"
1 p.m. - "The Moth"
2 p.m. - "TED Radio Hour"
3 p.m. - "Selected Shorts"
4 p.m. - "It's Been a Minute"/"Wild Card"
"Embodied" moves to Thursdays at 7 p.m. and "Left, Right & Center" moves to Fridays at 7 p.m.
"Living on Earth" will be leaving HPR-1. You can access current episodes and the show archive here.
About Hawaii Public Radio
HPR is a private, non-profit organization which broadcasts classical, jazz, and international music; and in-depth news and informational programming from National Public Radio, Public Radio International, and other local, national, and international program sources, as well as programs produced by Hawaii Public Radio. In 2013, Charity Navigator, the premier charity evaluator, awarded HPR its second consecutive highest, four-star rating for sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency.
HPR's mission is to serve the entire population of the state of Hawai‘i with two excellent program streams. HPR-1, the news magazine and fine arts stream, can currently be heard on O‘ahu and Kaua‘i (KHPR 88.1 FM and 88.5 FM); Maui, Moloka‘i, Lana‘i, and West Hawai‘i (KKUA 90.7 FM); and East Hawai‘i (KANO 91.1 FM (Hilo) and 94.7 FM (Waimea)). HPR-2, the news, local talk, and music stream, is found on Maui, Moloka‘i, Lana‘i (KIPM 89.7 FM and KIPH 88.3 FM (Hana)); West Hawai‘i (KIPM 89.7 FM and KHPH 88.7 FM); O‘ahu and Kaua‘i (KIPO 89.3 FM; KIPL 89.9 FM).
