Classical music performances return to the Atherton in July. Whether you're a longtime classical music enthusiast or simply looking to experience extraordinary live music in a unique setting, we invite you to join us for two special evenings of intimate live performances featuring:

•   July 18 @ 2 p.m.: An Afternoon of Classical Viola & Piano ft. Yuri Hughes and Jasmine Nagano - GET TICKETS

•   July 25 @ 6 p.m.: An Evening of Classical Song & Piano ft. Kaelyn Howard and Brian Bethea - GET TICKETS

2026 marks 250 years since the Declaration of Independence. On July 4, tune in to this special program that traces some of the key stories that brought us to this moment. Plus, advice for listeners about how to celebrate, and some thoughts from legendary filmmaker Ken Burns.

On air: An Evening with HPR
Tune in to HPR Hōʻike for conversations from our Members & Friends evening in downtown Hilo. Highlights include a panel discussion on the year-and-a-half of eruptive activity at Kīlauea's summit and its impact on local communities, plus an interview with rising singer and composer Kaniaulono Hāpai.

HPR Hōʻike continues in July with a series of storytelling events from our 2026 Live from the Atherton Storytellers' Series. Take a closer look at the infamous Captain Cook and hear music from celebrated artists like Kainani Kahaunaele and Aunty Nola Nahulu.

Go behind the music with Hawaiʻi’s celebrated songwriters at an intimate evening of live performance, storytelling and conversation featuring Nā Hōkū Hanohano finalists and award-winning artists. Learn more
