BUY NOW

The limited-edition ALOHA Collection-made bags can be purchased as follows:

  • A day tripper bag with zippered top and two zippered pockets for travel or a day at the beach, $76
  • The day tripper bag and a small pouch for carrying makeup or electronics, $99

Each bag comes in ALOHA Collection packaging with a hang tag and postcard. A flat rate shipping cost of $12 (Hawaiʻi) or $18 (U.S. Mainland) will be added at check-out.

The idea for the fundraiser came from Tatiana Quong, a senior business solutions consultant in Hawaiian Electric’s operations training area who has long been a fan of the popular ALOHA Collection brand. Quong approached the retailer with her fundraiser idea and worked with them on the bag’s custom-made design to incorporate Hawaiian Electric’s modern logo, which was created in 2013 by respected Hilo artist Sig Zane, his wife, Nalani, and their son Kuhaʻo.

The elements of Hawaiian Electric’s logo are called “Kahikuonālani” and honors King Kalākaua, the seventh sovereign, who brought electricity to ʻIolani Palace in the 1880s. His vision led to
the formation of Hawaiian Electric in 1891.
