Down to Earth's vision is inspired by Hawaiʻi's state motto, "The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness" (Ua Mau ke Ea o ka ʻĀina i ka Pono). We envision a Hawaiʻi where all people "Cherish the land and live in health and harmony" (E Mālama I Ka ʻĀina, E Ola Pono).
Our mission is to serve Hawaiʻi by providing high-quality, fresh, local, natural, organic, plant-based foods and related products, offering friendly and knowledgeable service in well-merchandised stores, and sharing information about healthy living.
Down to Earth has proudly served Hawaiʻi since 1977, helping nourish ʻohana and ʻāina with fresh, local, natural, organic plant-based foods and products. Everything we do is guided by our mission to make it easier to shop with purpose without compromising on taste, quality, or values.
Our core values -- Fresh, Local, Natural, Organic, Plant-Based -- guide not only what we sell but how we serve our customers. We feature fresh foods including farm-fresh produce and made-from-scratch deli items, prioritize local farms and products, provide natural foods and body care free of artificial additives, and give priority to organic and Non-GMO Project Verified choices. We do not sell meat, fish, poultry, eggs, or products derived from them, reflecting our commitment to plant-based living for personal health, environmental sustainability, and compassion for animals.
