All children love music and their inborn love of music makes it an absolute natural for child development ...music learning supports all learning! Music classes for babies, toddlers and preschoolers with their parents and/or caregivers are available in our studio in Honolulu and Aiea. Music Together® is a community of families with young children sharing songs, instrument play, rhythm chants, and movement and dance activities in a relaxed, playful, non-performance oriented setting.
Click on the following video to see sections of an Ohana Music Together class and hear the director, Becky describing the Music Together philosophy
To inspire a whole new generation of music makers who can sing in tune and move in rhythm and participate with joy and confidence as they create music with their family and friends throughout their lives. To help people build stronger families and communities through making music together. To provide young families with appropriate music and movement activities that develop "the whole child".
What's a babies class like?
This class is for families who are new to Music Together and have babies under eight months of age. It is an introduction to the special sharing between parents and infants that is a natural result of musical interaction. Six to 10 parents and their infants learn songs with accompanying activities that they can sing at home to both engage and comfort their infants. All activities are especially designed to gently stimulate infants, tickle their senses and create joyful interaction between baby and parent(s). The babies classes are taught by our director, Becky Andrew, or by Terrie Galacia, MT-BC, MTS (certified Music Therapist) who provide information to parents, from research, about the benefits of music to your baby's development and cognition.

We're Earth friendly:
Music Together prints its materials on Forest Stewardship Council certified paper. This means the paper is manufactured with independently monitored, earth-friendly and sustainable practices.
Music Together has developed nine song collections, each characterized by its own graphic, color, and instrument. These collections each include a recording and songbook and are designed to be used one collection per semester. The material is not sequential, so a family may begin Music Together classes in any semester with any collection.
The music is pitched in just the right range for children's voices and includes songs, rhythmic chants, tonal and rhythm patterns, and instrumental play-alongs, all in a rich variety of tonalities and meters. Original songs and arrangements by the program co-authors make these collections especially unique. Outstanding instrumentalists play a variety of instruments such as guitar, bass, flutes, keyboards, and percussion. All of the songs are suitable for mixed-age groups and perfect for childcare centers or families with children of different ages.
Music Together's song collections are research-based and artistically conceived and produced. They are also classroom and family tested. Since 1987, the feedback of hundreds of teachers and thousands of families has been incorporated into these constantly evolving materials.
